The beer pub Novel Craft in Minami-Karasuyama, Setagaya-ku, Tokyo, will begin service today, April 24, from 5:00 p.m. The following day, April 25, Novel Craft Brewing (reverb), its sister shop, is scheduled to host a Tap Take Over by the noteworthy Miyagi brewery falo Brewing, and the Novel Craft main store will be closed.
The main shop has a strong presence as a place to stop in for a beer after work. In its post, it said it would welcome guests with a "gem of a Tap List," and today's special also featured "Coconut Lemon Saag Chicken Curry." It is a dish that preserves the saag character of spinach while layering in the aromas of coconut and lemon, making it an easy match between beers.
On tap were Collective Arts / Hazy State, Cellador / Lou, Novel Craft Brewing × Ben's Slop Shop / Full Up, Mingel / Turn! Turn! Turn!, Mugizakkoku Kobo / Creek Lager, and Novel Craft Brewing / Wah. From overseas beers like Hazy State and Lou, to the collaboration Full Up, to domestic beers like Creek Lager and Wah, the lineup lets drinkers move across a wide range of flavor directions.
One of Novel Craft's charms is that you can take your time following the character of each tap at this calm beer pub in Minami-Karasuyama. Ahead of the sister-shop event on the 25th, it feels natural to start with a drink at the main shop today.
