Nami no Oto Brewing is a brewery based in Minamiawaji City, Hyogo Prefecture. On its official website, it promotes beer making that "makes use of ingredients," and its brewing is characterized by a regional circulation model that incorporates agricultural products and local materials from Awaji Island. Its lineup, which includes a white beer made with Naruto oranges and an IPA brewed with koji from a local sake brewery, also reflects connections with producers on the island and is part of the brewery's unique identity.
How a beer that reflects the terroir of Awaji Island will be received in Fushimi, Kyoto, during Golden Week remains to be seen. It should be a chance to see firsthand where craft beer stands today, starting from local ingredients.
