Kirali Brewery in Yamaga, Kumamoto said on Instagram that this year’s “Kabuki” Sakekasu Hazy is ready. The beer takes inspiration from Kabuki performances at Yachiyoza, a nationally designated tangible cultural property in Yamaga, and uses sake lees from Chiyonoen Shuzo, a long-established local brewery. The result is positioned as a beer that connects regional culture with brewing.

According to the official product page, the beer is built on a Hazy base. Its hazy appearance and smooth mouthfeel come from the sake lees, while a generous use of Mosaic hops adds floral, tropical, and fruity aromas. The brewery describes the profile as fruit-forward, with restrained bitterness and a 6.5% ABV. It is sold in 330 ml bottles and also served on draft at the taproom.

Kirali Brewery presents itself as a brewery that brews with local agricultural ingredients and the seasons. “Kabuki” fits that approach: a limited beer shaped by Yamaga’s sake culture, Yachiyoza’s imagery, and hop-driven aromatics. It is a concise example of how local ingredients can define both style and story.
