August 5 at umbrella

Umbrella, a beer pub in the basement entrance area of Ohatsutenjin in Osaka's Umeda district, opened at 6 p.m. on August 5. The venue's official site describes it as a relaxed hidden spot with warm wooden interiors, plus a beer list that includes three craft taps alongside draft Guinness and Kirin Lager.

One new keg

The day's new tap is "Doctor Hopsum" from Two Rabbits Brewing in Shiga. It is a Hazy IPA at 6.0% ABV, and it serves as the anchor for the rest of the draft lineup.

Draft lineup

- Doctor Hopsum / Two Rabbits Brewing (Shiga), Hazy IPA
- Ichi-go Ichie / Igre Brewery (Hyogo) x umbrella (Osaka), Fruit Ale
- Plum Gose / Minoh Beer (Osaka), Gose
- Draft Guinness (Ireland)
- Kirin Lager / Kirin Beer (JP), Lager

This is a lineup with clear range: a hop-driven Hazy IPA, a fruit ale collaboration, a gose, and the familiar draft pair of Guinness and Kirin Lager. That makes it easy to choose a first pint, then shift styles as the night goes on.

Umbrella's appeal is not just the beer list. It is the basement hideaway feel in the middle of Umeda, with a space suited to a quiet after-work drink or a small group visit. The post focuses on the beer side, but the pub's style and food pairing make the taps feel very much at home.
