Located on the third floor of Hirakata Sun Plaza Building No. 3, directly connected to Osaka’s Hirakata City Station, The Beer Shop Hirakata city is a specialty beer store offering about 150 to 200 kinds of craft beer. You can drink standing inside the shop and also take your beer home, which is one of its defining features.

In a post on May 2, the shop announced that during the Golden Week period it would be open every day from 1:00 p.m. until May 6. It also said that owner Nagao would run a "guerrilla project" by pouring just one keg of Kinmugi, based on the idea of asking, "If we seriously handled what is commonly called happoshu, could we make it taste good?" The plan also included serving it while explaining the differences among happoshu styles, so it should offer a slightly different perspective from the usual draft beer lineup.

The beers that arrived that day were distinctive as well. From Miyazaki came three labels from Miyazaki Hideji Beer: Taiyo no Lager, Miyazaki Mango Lager, and Kyushu CRAFT Hyuganatsu. Alongside them, the draft taps featured Sapporo Beer / Black Label, Naminooto Brewing / Belgian White with Naruto Orange, Baird Brewing / Imperial IPA, Naminooto Brewing / Breakfast Club, and Naminooto Brewing / Wakaba.

In addition to its convenient station access, The Beer Shop Hirakata city is appealing for the chance to casually sample a wide variety of domestic and international beers. In Hirakata during Golden Week, it looks set to be a day for comparing everything from a standard pint to beers shipped straight from Miyazaki, and even the experimental Kinmugi.
