BATHE YOTSUME BREWERY, based in the Oshiage area of Sumida, Tokyo, has announced a new beer: Juicy Melon Hazy. The beer is a Hazy IPA with melon, clocking in at 6% ABV and 25 IBU. As the name suggests, the release is centered on a juicy melon character.

According to the brewery’s post, the aroma aims to evoke biting into a perfectly ripe melon. Sweet melon notes lead the way, while tropical accents reminiscent of passion fruit and peach add brightness and depth. The recipe uses Pilsner malt, Galaxy and Nelson Sauvin hops, Verdant IPA yeast, plus melon, wheat, oat, and lactose.

The texture is described as smooth and soft, with oats and wheat contributing a silky mouthfeel. A small amount of lactose adds gentle sweetness and roundness, reinforcing the beer’s fruit juice-like impression. Even with its fruit-forward profile, the finish is said to be clean and easy-drinking, with a pleasant ripe-fruit aftertaste that lingers without feeling heavy.

This is a beer aimed squarely at Hazy IPA fans, but it is also positioned as approachable for people who do not usually reach for beer. For drinkers looking for a fruit-driven release from a Tokyo brewery, Juicy Melon Hazy is the one to watch.
