Novel Craft, a beer pub in Minami-Karasuyama, Setagaya, posted on June 10 that it would open at 5 p.m. and shared the day’s bottle recommendations and tap list.

The bar also highlighted one of its regular snacks, chikuwa. The post describes it as a simple dish mixed with aonori seaweed, cream cheese and pepper, and notes that it is a popular menu item. It is the kind of easy, beer-friendly plate that suits a neighborhood beer pub.

Two bottles were recommended.

- De Ranke / XX Bitter
An ABV 5% Belgian beer with citrus- and herb-like aromas and a firm bitterness.
- Drie Fonteinen / Cuvee Armand & Gaston
A gueuze made by blending one-, two- and three-year-old lambic. The post describes it as layered and wild with a balanced acidity, and says it arrived in 375 ml bottles.

The tap list featured eight beers.

- Garage × LHG / ADRENOCHROME
- Trap Door / Trap Door IPA
- Bellwoods / Grisette
- Yorocco Beer / Sky Walker IPA
- Novel Craft Brewing / Over Dub
- Novel Craft Brewing / Sweep
- Novel Craft Brewing / Looper
- Novel Craft Brewing / Down Tempo

With four house beers alongside guest pours from Japan and abroad, the lineup spans IPA, grisette and lambic in bottle form. It is a balanced list for comparing styles slowly, pairing them with chikuwa, and working through a few different glasses at a relaxed pace.
