Shukujitsu Bakushu, the Osaka brewery and beer bar in Tsurumi Ward’s Hanaten area, held Hanaten Beer Fest 2026 Summer on June 13-14. Nine breweries from across Japan joined the event, turning the shopping street into a walkable tasting route for craft beer and food.
Shukujitsu Bakushu, a small brewery and beer bar in Hanaten, Tsurumi Ward, Osaka, held its local signature event, Hanaten Beer Fest 2026 Summer, on June 13-14. The venue was Hanaten Sakaemachi Shopping Street, just a one-minute walk from Hanaten Station, and the festival brought together nine breweries from across Japan.
The event began in 2024 as part of a broader effort to bring energy back to the shopping street while introducing more people to craft beer. This year marked the fourth edition. Past editions have reportedly drawn around 4,000 visitors each time, showing that the festival has become a notable community event as well as a beer gathering. Participating breweries included names such as Derailleur Brew Works, Akashi Craft Beer Toki, Hiwasa Beer, and Mame Mame Beer.
Shukujitsu Bakushu itself is rooted in a retro shopping street and operates as both a brewery and a beer bar. Its setup emphasizes fresh beer brewed on site and served close to where it is made. That local identity was a good fit for a festival that connects neighborhood businesses, visiting breweries, and beer drinkers in the same space.
