Introducing Awaji Island Craft Beer Over Two Days

The Beer Shop Hirakata city will hold an event featuring Awaji Island's Naminoto Brewing over the two days of Saturday, April 25 and Sunday, April 26. In its post, the shop describes it as a second straight year of the event following last year, and this time it plans to offer nine draft beers and canned beer.

Naminoto Brewing is a brewery based in Minamiawaji City, Hyogo Prefecture. On its official website, it promotes beer making that makes use of ingredients from Awaji Island; for example, its "Naruto Orange Belgian White" uses Naruto oranges from Awaji Island. It also offers a koji-based hazy IPA, as well as beers incorporating Awaji Island barley, wheat, and sea salt, and its defining feature is its approach of connecting local ingredients with beer.

This event will also strongly reflect that direction. According to the announcement, not only beer but also brewery goods and Awaji Island ingredients and related products are slated to be available. A gachapon-style prize wheel you can spin for every 2,000 yen spent and the return of the onion UFO catcher, which also drew attention last year, have also been announced, making it a setup you can enjoy across the whole sales floor, not just by drinking.

The event takes place on the weekend before Golden Week. As the Minamiawaji brewery steps a little away from its everyday brewing, what expressions of beer will it line up? As an entry point to getting to know Naminoto Brewing's character, this is an event worth watching.
