A day to take your time and enjoy 10 taps at the Honkomagome brewpub

Hinomoto Brewing & Beer Stand, in Honkomagome, Bunkyo Ward, Tokyo, is a taproom and bottle shop attached to a brewery. In a casual space centered on counter seating and standing room, it serves only house craft beer and Japanese craft beer. In the 5/14 (Thu) announcement, it will be open from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Keeping its Wednesday closing rhythm, it is the kind of place where you can drink properly on a weekday evening.

There are 10 taps in all on this day. The lineup is as follows.

- Kohatu Pale Ale / NZ Pale Ale, 5.5%
- Pee-Pee-Pee / Kveik Pale Ale (Norwegian Farmhouse Ale), 5.5%
- Seiten Raimei #2 / West Coast IPA, 7.5%
- Yunosu Saison / Yuzu Sour Saison, 6%
- Komagome Brown / Brown Saison, 6%
- Komagome Best Bitter / English Best Bitter, 4.5%
- EL BAMP HAZY / Hazy IPA, 7%
- Kurotobi #4 / Belgian Stout, 7%

Including the two taps not listed here, the range runs from a lively pale ale to hop-forward IPAs, a yuzu-based sour saison, bitter, hazy, and stout. It seems like the kind of lineup where you can move through the beers one by one, following the different temperature ranges and flavor profiles. In particular, having NZ Pale Ale, West Coast IPA, Hazy IPA, and Belgian Stout on tap at the same time makes for an easy framework for comparison tasting.

On the food side, regular service centers on kaki-pi and dagashi, but there are also plans for a whimsical food menu heading into the weekend. There is also a notice that the brewery head’s chicken achar and seasonal vegetable ratatouille will be available, making it a good stop for anyone who wants a light bite between beers. On 5/16 (Sat), there will be live painting on the glass entrance door, and on 5/17 (Sun), a whimsical snack day is also being announced, making this a service where you can visit and enjoy the current atmosphere of the shop.
