Kawaguchi Brewery to Serve Two Limited Beers at Hatogaya Festival
Kawaguchi Brewery will take part in the Hatogaya Chamber of Commerce Festival at Numata Park, serving two limited beers—Simcoe Smash and Amber Ale—alongside food, sake, pickles, and sours.
Kawaguchi Brewery, a brewpub in Saiwaicho, Kawaguchi, will participate in the Hatogaya Chamber of Commerce Festival at Numata Park. Visitors can enjoy two limited beers from the local brewery while exploring the community festival.
The lineup includes Simcoe Smash, an ale brewed exclusively with the single hop Simcoe. It is described as having a bright, aromatic character and an alcohol content of 5.6%. The second beer is Amber Ale, offering caramel-like malt aromas, a rich body, and a firm bitterness. It has an alcohol content of 5.4%.
Both beers will be available in large servings for 800 yen and small servings for 500 yen. The two styles offer a clear contrast: Simcoe Smash highlights hop aroma, while Amber Ale focuses on malt depth and roasted sweetness.
The festival will also feature sake, pickles, cola, dishes from partner restaurant Keihachi, and sours. A yakitori shop next to the venue is expected to add plenty of smoke and a distinctly local food-stall atmosphere to the event.
Kawaguchi Brewery operates as a brewpub with its brewing facilities on site. Its restaurant in Saiwaicho pairs house-made beer with food in a relaxed setting. This festival appearance offers a chance to try the brewery’s limited beers outside the taproom and compare a hop-forward ale with a malt-driven amber beer in one visit.
