Saien Microbrewery with Kitchen has released a limited-edition spice-forward wit.

The newly announced “Saien Craft Beer Timur Wit,” according to the post, uses Timur, a spice native to Nepal. The style is wit (white ale), and the description highlights its “soft wheat-derived mouthfeel,” “fresh aroma reminiscent of citrus peel,” “subtle bitterness,” and “light, easy-drinking character.” It appears designed to preserve the drinkability of a classic white beer while adding a distinctive aromatic twist.

The shop is a brewery restaurant in Saien, Morioka City, and its official website says it is a “restaurant with a brewery” created by renovating the former Cucina location. It is produced by Baeren Brewery, and its defining feature is a commitment to experimental beer-making that goes beyond conventional boundaries. The inclusion of “with Kitchen” in the name also makes clear that it is a place where people can casually enjoy beer alongside food.

The “Timur x wit” combination is the kind of beer whose appeal becomes especially clear when paired with food. It seems like a new release worth following in the glass, to see how the spice character and wheat softness come together.
