Kagoshima flavors reach Umeda
Satsuma Sendai Brewery, operated by Satsumasendai Miso Soy Sauce Co., will take part in the Kagoshima Umakamon Marche at the central ticket gate area on the second floor of Hankyu Osaka Umeda Station. The fair runs from June 16 to June 30, and the brewery’s two beers, Satsuma Sendai Golden Ale and Satsuma Sendai Weizen, are being featured as Kagoshima specialties.
The brewery traces its roots to a miso storehouse founded in 1905. That background in fermentation carries into its beer making. According to the brewery’s website, the Weizen uses a high proportion of wheat malt for a soft mouthfeel and a banana-like yeast aroma, while the Golden Ale is described as an English pale ale with an elegant hop aroma and a moderate bitterness that leads into malt sweetness.
One detail fans may notice is the yeast sediment at the bottom of the bottle, a sign of the beer’s character. Pouring it into a glass brings out the foam, aroma, and layered flavor that the brewery highlights. For customers who cannot visit the event, the brewery’s online shop also offers gift and party sets, including a three-bottle option and larger 12- and 20-bottle packs.
