Beer brewed beside forests and farmland

The brewery featured by Daikanyama beer pub Bibibi. is Noroshi Brewery in Nagareyama, Chiba. Established in 2024, it is located about a 25-minute walk from Nagareyama-Otakanomori Station, in a quiet area surrounded by farms and greenery rather than the bustle of an urban center.

Brewer Takumi Irie leads the project. He developed a passion for beer as a student and worked at the Baird Brewing taproom in Harajuku, Tokyo. Although he originally planned to pursue a career related to agriculture, a turning point during his job search led him toward brewing. After gaining brewing experience, he established Noroshi Brewery as a place where agriculture and beer could coexist.

Beers shaped by Nagareyama

Noroshi Brewery works with local fruits, herbs, and farm products from Nagareyama. Using seasonal ingredients allows the surrounding landscape and time of year to appear in the beers. The brewery focuses on approachable, food-friendly beers that are especially fitting for relaxed drinking outdoors or after a day of farm work.

One featured beer is Noroshi Saison, a crisp and refreshing saison designed to be easy to enjoy after physical work. Yuzu Saison adds the aroma of locally grown yuzu to the dry character of the style. The brewery has also created Hinoki Reuter no Noroshi Saison, incorporating hinoki from the brewery’s own surroundings and giving the beer a distinctive connection to the local landscape.
