A wide-ranging tap list in Komagome
Hinomoto Brewing & Beer Stand, a brewpub in Honkomagome, Bunkyo, Tokyo, will be open from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, October 17. The bar’s planned lineup covers a broad range of craft beer styles, centered on beers from Hinomoto Brewing.
The taps include the 5.5% Amber Lager and the lighter 4.5% Little Thing, along with the 7% Sanro Hazy and 7.5% Yoiyo IPA. With a dry-hopped amber lager, a dry-hopped session ale, a hazy IPA, and a black IPA, the selection offers several different expressions of hop character.
Also pouring are the 6.5% Mashup IPA Ekuanot, brewed in a Belgian IPA style, the 6% Shinmei Pils West Coast Pilsner, and the 5% Pineapple Gose. For a more malt-forward option, the 4.5% Best bitter presents an English best bitter profile.
The more adventurous choices include the 5.5% Unknown Sour Ale, made with raspberry, blackberry, rosemary, and cacao husk from Ghana, and the 7% Belgian stout Kurodori #4. Some beers are marked as nearly sold out, so guests may want to start with their priority pours.
The brewpub is located on the first floor of Green Pia Honkomagome. Regular hours are 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. on weekdays and 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. on weekends and holidays, with Wednesdays closed. Standard snacks include kaki-pea crackers and dagashi sweets. On October 17 and 18, the shop will also offer savory cakes made with rice flour and okara powder, filled with vegetables and bacon and designed to pair with craft beer.
