Craft beer brewed near Shirato Beach

Rusty Nest Brewery in Oamishirasato, Chiba, has shared a new Instagram post titled “FOOD & DRINK|02.” The post focuses on the brewery’s food-and-drink experience, presenting craft beer as something to enjoy alongside local cuisine and time spent by the coast.

The brewery was created by renovating a former seafood-processing facility near Shirato Beach. Its brewing equipment began operating in June 2025, with the brewery aiming to become the first craft brewery in Oamishirasato. Beyond brewing, Rusty Nest is designed as a gathering place where visitors can share beer, conversation, and the atmosphere of the Pacific coast.

A lineup made for coastal meals

The brewery’s flagship Rusty Nest IPA is known for tropical hop aromas and a crisp finish. Its official beer lineup also includes Rusty Nest Session IPA, a lighter and highly drinkable interpretation; Rusty Nest Coffee IPA, brewed with dark-roasted coffee beans; OAMI WHITE, a Belgian white ale that can feature locally grown wheat and fresh hops in seasonal batches; and Rusty Nest LAGER, a clean, refreshing lager.

At the adjoining Rusty Cafe & Bar, guests can enjoy Rusty Nest beers as well as selections from other breweries in Chiba and along the eastern coast. The lunch menu includes the house Rusty Red Curry and “Iwashi-koro,” a local Oamishirasato specialty.

“FOOD & DRINK|02” reflects Rusty Nest’s wider approach: beer is part of a place, a meal, and a shared experience. For visitors heading to Shirato Beach, a stop at Rusty Nest offers a chance to taste a beer shaped by the landscape and community of Oamishirasato.
