TAMA tumuji WERKS to host rooftop beer garden “Beer & Daily Scenery” in Tama, Aug. 21-23
TAMA tumuji WERKS, the Tama, Tokyo salon-cafe-brewery hybrid, will hold a three-day rooftop beer garden called “Beer & Daily Scenery” from August 21 to 23. The event pairs craft beer with deli food, natural wine, tea, and hot dogs.
TAMA tumuji WERKS, a multi-use space in Suwa, Tama City that combines a barber, salon, cafe, and brewery, announced an event on Instagram titled “Beer & Daily Scenery.” The post frames beer as part of ordinary life: a drink after work, a small spark for conversation, and a toast that can shift the mood of a team.
The event will be held as “Beer no Niwa” (Beer Garden) over three days, Friday, August 21 through Sunday, August 23. Hours are 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with last order at 8:30 p.m. The venue is the rooftop of Okanoue Plaza (Ito-Yokado) in Tama Center.
Food and drink vendors include `@bierernst_` for craft beer, `@years_tamacity` for deli items, Chachacha for tea, `@modoki_2025` for natural wine, and `@newtownpork` for hot dogs. Visitors may also bring in food purchased at nearby facilities such as Okanoue Plaza, Cocoria Tama Center, and Okanoue Patio. If they show a receipt, the first craft beer comes with a 100-yen discount. Employees of nearby companies can receive the same discount by showing a company ID.
The brewery itself is based at 1-9-4 Suwa, Tama-shi, Tokyo, inside the Century 21 building. On its official site, TAMA tumuji WERKS describes its concept as “hair, cafe, craft beer” and positions the space as an everyday detour worth taking. This rooftop event extends that idea beyond the shop and into the neighborhood.
URATAMA, the organizing committee behind the event, is made up of TAMA tumuji WERKS and studiomegaene architects.inc. Rather than presenting beer as a special occasion only, the event is built around the idea of placing craft beer naturally inside daily scenery.
