BATHE YOTSUME BREWERY announced on its March 21 Instagram post that it is brewing a beer made with mugwort. In the post, it described the beer as themed around "mugwort," which signals the arrival of spring in Japan, and said it features a Japanese herbal aroma and flavor. The release is planned for April.

The brewery began with the desire to "create, with our own hands, a beer that people can enjoy after getting out of the bath." Its shop is located in Narihira, Sumida Ward, Tokyo, near Tokyo Skytree, and in addition to developing and brewing craft beer, it also has a beer bar and DJ booth at the back of the store. What makes it appealing is that the brewery function and the place to enjoy a pint on site are integrated into one space.

What the post highlighted this time was a beer that puts a spring-like ingredient front and center. The grassy character from mugwort and its subtle Japanese nuance should offer a personality distinct from the usual hop-led aroma. Rather than a flashy presentation, it looks like a beer that conveys the season through its ingredients, so it is likely to draw attention when released.
