Kyoto Brewing’s “Summer Whim” Newly Tapped at Chiitoko Shoten in Shimosuwa, with Four Draft Beers Introduced
The dagashi, beer, and coffee shop Chiitoko Shoten in Shimosuwa Town will be open on Saturday, May 16 from 10:00 to 22:00. It is featuring four draft beers, including Kyoto Brewing’s newly tapped “Summer Whim.”
Chiitoko Shoten, located in Shimotakamachi Shimo, Ota-machi, Shimosuwa Town, is a beer pub where you can enjoy dagashi, craft beer, and coffee together. On Saturday, May 16, it will be open from 10:00 to 22:00, and takeout is also available, making it an easy stop during a stroll. The relaxed atmosphere that makes it a place to spend time at leisure inside is one of this shop’s charms.
The new tap for the day is Kyoto Brewing’s “Summer Whim” (4.5%). In the post, it is introduced as the summer edition of the Whim series, and is described as a session IPA with light drinkability, a soft mouthfeel, a tropical and juicy drinking experience, a faint grape-like aroma, and restrained bitterness. It is being recommended as an easy-drinking beer for the approach of warmer weather.
The draft lineup announced alongside it consists of the following four beers.
- Spring Lager (5.0%) / Minoh Beer
- Summer Whim (4.5%) / Kyoto Brewing
- Amane (4.0%) / Nobara Homestead Brewery
- Moon Calender (6.5%) / Nomcraft Brewing
The lineup pairs well with dagashi, baked sweets, scones, brownies, and other light snacks, creating a natural flow from beer as the main attraction to finishing with coffee. At a shop that stays close to everyday local life, it is a place where you can casually enjoy what craft beer is like right now.
