ALE HOUSE Kamiya, located on the basement floor in Doyama-cho, Osaka, has added a new guest beer. This latest tap is excursions / Uikotten Brewing. It is said to be a nitro real ale version of an Irish red, and the first of its kind at Kamiya.

What the shop highlights about this beer is its fragrant malt-driven richness and sweetness, along with its easy-drinking profile thanks to modest bitterness and alcohol content. Rather than a beer that comes at you with a strong impact, it seems like a calm glass that lets you follow the layers of flavor slowly as you hold it. Its soft mouthfeel, true to real ale style, is also likely to catch the attention of beer fans.

ALE HOUSE Kamiya is a beer pub centered on craft beer, where you can also enjoy food pairings. The B1F floor is open late into the night, and the 3F can be used until 11:30 p.m., making it convenient for a post-work drink, a late dinner, or a stop-in while catching a game. Inside, you can watch sports broadcasts, and the menu also includes food that pairs well with beer, such as Kamiya-style fried chicken and game dishes.

This "excursions" is less a flashy new release and more the kind of beer that lets you savor malt character at length. For a night in Higashi-Umeda when you want to settle in from the first glass, this tap adds another option. If you're interested, it is worth checking the day's keg status at the shop.
