Baird Brewery Garden Shuzenji to Release "Fruitful Life Citrus IPA" on April 15
Baird Brewery Garden Shuzenji will release its new "Fruitful Life Citrus IPA" on April 15, pairing citrusy hops with locally grown daidai and natsumikan. It has an alcohol content of 7.0% and an IBU of 65, and will be offered in 6-, 12-, and 24-pack formats.
Baird Brewery Garden Shuzenji, nestled in the mountains of Izu City, Shizuoka, is Baird Beer’s brewing base, which opened in the spring of 2014. On its 3-hectare grounds along the Kano River, the brewery has long valued the connection between the land and beer by blending brewing and farming. On the third floor, a 20-tap tasting room and an outdoor deck make it a well-known place to enjoy beer alongside the natural scenery.
The new release, "Fruitful Life Citrus IPA," will debut on April 15. This IPA uses plenty of hops with citrus character, and this year it also includes locally grown daidai and natsumikan. According to the official description, the flavor is bursting with freshness, spicy, and finishes by thoroughly quenching your thirst. It layers hop aroma with the tartness of fruit, creating a profile that brings citrus outlines to the forefront.
In terms of specs, it has an alcohol content of 7.0%, an IBU of 65, and an SRM color of 4.5. The ingredients include local spring water, floor-malted Maris Otter and Pils, wheat, Vienna, domestically produced rock sugar, fresh hops, house yeast, and local daidai and natsumikan, including peel and juice. The label also takes its motif from citrus harvesting work, suggesting a Baird-style design that makes the most of local fruit.
Sales will be available not only in 6-, 12-, and 24-bottle packs, but also as a Build Your Own Box 6-pack. It is a beer that clearly reflects Baird’s brewing philosophy, refined in Shuzenji, with the aroma of citrus.
