Inage Beer, a brewpub in Inage Ward, Chiba City, introduced its black beer "Mitamishi." According to the post, the beer opens with a stronger roasted aroma and finishes cleanly thanks to the acidity from amanatsu citrus grown in Isobe, Mihama Ward, Chiba City.
The brewery describes it as the first amanatsu beer release of 2026. This batch was the third brew of the year, and the post notes that while the label says Ver. 2, the correct version is Ver. 3.
A local ingredient story
The amanatsu was harvested and put to use by the Isobe Orange Preservation Group, which works with fruit trees left in local gardens since the area was developed. That gives the beer a clear local connection, which fits the brewery's approach to small-batch, place-based brewing.
The name "Mitamishi" comes from an old local term the brewery found in a neighborhood history booklet. The word refers to trying something, observing the result, and then adjusting if needed. It is a fitting name for a brewery that works in a hands-on, iterative way.
