A 12th anniversary built around local collaboration

Baird Brewery Gardens Shuzenji held its 12th anniversary festival on May 23 and 24. In the Instagram post, the brewery said the weather, which had been a concern, improved enough for the event to finish safely, and it thanked everyone who came.

This year's festival had a slightly different feel. Alongside the food vendors, the brewery invited craft-oriented stalls and added a collaboration with Himonora. The biggest crowd-puller was the rock-paper-scissors tournament: the post says about 100 people gathered for the matchup against Himonora. Food vendors also jumped in to help, turning the contest into a lively, prize-driven highlight.

The brewery itself is one of Baird's signature sites: a nature-rich facility on the Kano River in Shuzenji, Izu City, with a 20-tap tasting room and an outdoor beer deck. Opened in 2014, it has grown from the original Numazu operation into a larger production site, but the brewery says its brewing philosophy, methods, ingredients, and commitment to a clean, balanced, characterful beer have not changed. The post also points to what comes next: a joint summer celebration with the Shuzenji, Mishima, and Numazu locations scheduled for July 18-20.
