On May 22, two new beers were tapped at the same time at Yokohama Bay Brewing's Kannai main branch.

The highlights this time are "Bay Pilsner Hallertau Edition" and "Sprint IPA." The former is a Czech-style pale lager that reconstructs the Bay Pilsner hop recipe using only German Hallertau-type hops such as Hallertau Mittelfrüh, Saphir, Spalter Select, Hersbrucker, and Tradition. It is being introduced as an attempt to finish a Czech-style pilsner without using any Czech hops at all. The latter, "Sprint IPA," is a West Coast IPA centered on Nelson Sauvin and Idaho 7, with aromas reminiscent of citrus and stone fruit, plus a bitterness that gradually spreads toward the finish.

Inside the venue, these two join house staples such as "Bay Pilsner," "Bay Amber," "Bay Dark," "Bay Weiss," and "Yuzu Weiss," bringing the total to 14 draft beers. The lineup also includes "Steel Soul Fixie," "Weekend Journey," "Freestyle," "Freedom," "Beer Terrace," "Goooooaaaaal!!!!!," and "Flatland," offering a wide range of tasting comparisons.

The food menu is said to include about 40 items, such as sashimi and sausage, and this time the pairing featured "Czech Pickle Fry," made by wrapping pork belly around Czech pickles and deep-frying it. It is built to pair well with both pilsners and IPAs, making for a meal centered on beer.

In addition, a talk by brewer Teshima is scheduled to be held from 7:00 p.m. The store is a company-owned beer pub within walking distance of Kannai Station, with hours from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. and last orders at 10:30 p.m. It is one to check out on a day when you want to take your time and enjoy house-brewed beer in Yokohama.
