Ibusuki Brewery in Ibusuki, Kagoshima Prefecture, will hold its 1st anniversary event on May 17. It will set up vendors using second-floor classrooms, live performances, outdoor food trucks, and a food court, and has also started introducing additional vendors on Instagram.
Ibusuki Brewery in Ibusuki City, Kagoshima Prefecture, operates the craft beer brewery and former school kitchen "Mugi to Niwa" at the site of the old Tokumitsu Elementary School. Making use of the former school building, it has been developing a place that combines beer brewing, which reflects local ingredients and the local climate, with food.
In its latest Instagram post, the brewery announced that it will hold its 1st anniversary event on Sunday, May 17. The official website also says of the event, "We will welcome you with vendors and live performances using the second-floor classrooms, and with food trucks and a food court outside." The post is being published as an "introduction to additional vendors," and more vendor information will continue to be shared on Instagram.
As it reaches this milestone one year after opening, the post also expresses gratitude to local residents and to those from outside the city and prefecture who have supported it. With craft beer, food, and music coming together in a space revitalized from a closed school, it looks set to be a day that captures the spirit of Ibusuki.
