Shubou CRAFTMAN in Kyoto’s Nakagyo Ward has started pouring a collaboration beer with Nishijin Beer, Tokimeku Eldorado. The pub itself is housed in a renovated machiya over 100 years old, which gives the beer a fitting backdrop: a calm, historic setting for a very contemporary craft pint.

The beer is an American Belgian-style ale with the following specs:

- Beer name: Tokimeku Eldorado
- Brewery: Nishijin Beer
- ABV: 6.5%
- IBU: 30

According to the post, the beer uses plenty of El Dorado Cryo hops from the U.S. and is fermented with Belgian yeast. The result is described as a tropical, fruit-forward beer with aromas reminiscent of pineapple and mango. It is built to feel lush and expressive, while still carrying the subtle complexity that Belgian yeast can bring.

The collaboration also ties back to a shared theme between Shubou CRAFTMAN and Nishijin Beer: both are associated with Kyoto machiya spaces tucked deeper inside their plots, evoking storehouses and the layered history of the city. That idea became the motif for this beer, with the concept of a “treasure house” and a golden, fruit-driven profile coming together in one glass.

At the moment, Tokimeku Eldorado is available only at Shubou CRAFTMAN, bar K House Annex, and Nishijin Beer’s taproom, making it a Kyoto-only pour for now.
