Obia, which brews and sells beer in Kyoto City's Kita Ward, has posted its April business calendar on Instagram. On its official website, it is introduced as a nanobrewery inspired by Belgian beer culture, operating as a brewery and retail space in a renovated Kyoto machiya, where it offers original beers and selected Belgian beers.

The first point of attention in this announcement is that it will resume operations from Saturday, April 18. The brewery renovation will be completed by then, and along with the reopening, it says it will release a new cassava beer. Details are scheduled to be announced later, so for now this is a preview stage that suggests the outline of the new product.

On the business calendar, Sunday, April 26 is listed as an unscheduled closing day. The brewery is normally open only on Saturdays and Sundays, and visitors are advised to check the Instagram business calendar before coming. Obia's store is located in Murasakino Shimotori-dacho, Kita Ward, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture, and its business hours are 14:00 to 18:00. Only from July to September, hours are extended until 19:00.

Drawing on Belgium's free-spirited beer culture, Obia has aimed to create beer that fits Kyoto's land and daily life. With its renewed start after renovation and the launch of a new cassava-based beer, April looks set to be an important milestone for following the brewery's next chapter.
