Bar FUKURO Taps Flora Fermentation's "Paris" and Hop Kotan's "AKIRA's Day Off"
The beer pub Bar FUKURO in Kamata, Tokyo, announced Flora Fermentation's "Paris" and Hop Kotan's "AKIRA's Day Off" as "New Tap Beer!!". In addition to temporary Golden Week hours, a Kamado Brewery Tap Takeover is also scheduled for May 22 and 23.
Tokyo's Kamata Bar FUKURO announced new tap openings on Instagram. The beers introduced this time are Flora Fermentation's 'Paris' and Hop Kotan's 'AKIRA's Day Off'. Each comes in a different style, making for a lineup that's fun to compare side by side.
'Paris' is a Hazy IPA with an ABV of 7.0%. The post highlights hop-derived aromas of mango and coconut, along with a juicy, smooth drinking experience. While it has substantial presence, it still stays delicious all the way through, so the balance between rich aroma and mouthfeel seems to be the key point.
On the other hand, 'AKIRA's Day Off' is a Bohemian style Pilsner with an ABV of 5.0%. It is described as a beer that emphasizes the hop's rounded herbal character and bitterness, along with malt notes reminiscent of bread, honey, and biscuits brought out by decoction mashing. Rather than flashy aroma, it seems suited to those who want to enjoy malt depth and clean bitterness.
Bar FUKURO also announced its temporary Golden Week hours from May 3 to 6. In addition, a Kamado Brewery Tap Takeover is scheduled for Friday, May 22 and Saturday, May 23, so the taps will keep changing. If you're following craft beer in Kamata, this is one place to keep an eye on.
