New release that makes the most of tankan juiciness

Sakazuki Brewing, in Kitasenju, Adachi Ward, Tokyo, tapped its original custom beer, Feelin' single, created by the winner of Original Beer Brewing Rights 2025, on April 22. According to a post, the theme was tankan, a citrus fruit that left a strong impression in Okinawa. Brewing was timed to match the harvest season, with the aim of bringing out a clear, juicy character.

The beer style is fruit beer

The new release for the day was introduced as Feelin' single, a fruit beer (tankan, American pale ale). The brewery described it as a "juicy pale ale from a tankan sent from a southern island," suggesting a design that puts bright citrus aroma and easy drinkability front and center. The naming was done by the rights holder themselves.

The pairing is Thai-style fried chicken salad

The suggested pairing dish was Thai-style Fried Chicken Salad - Sweet Chili Dressing -. It combines fried chicken coated in a sauce based on sweet chili and nam pla with herbal aromas from lemongrass, mint, and kaffir lime. Sakazuki Brewing suggests that the tankan's juicy character overlaps with the ethnic aromas, creating a pairing that does not feel heavy like a fried dish.

A wide lineup on tap that day

The post also announced the day's tap list alongside the release information. In addition to the standard shy girl and shy daddy, beers of different styles were on tap, including Hatsukaze, Megurogawa Sakura Ale, hangover!, and Twilight. In typical Kitasenju brewery fashion, the lineup invites guests to compare each beer one by one and enjoy how they pair with food.

This tapping was also notable as a custom-brewed beer made possible through an anniversary project. As a neighborhood beer pub, it is a fitting Sakazuki Brewing creation that turns seasonal ingredients and the experiences of visiting customers directly into a single glass.
