Nagano Brewery Offers a Pairing Set Featuring Merlot from Its Own Farm
Nagano Brewery has put together a pairing set of wine, beer, and prosciutto made with Merlot harvested from its own farm. The wine is "OJOJI 2023," the beer is "Shijō," and the prosciutto is crafted by "jamon Kugetsu" in the Odagiri district of Nagano City.
Nagano Brewery, based in Ojoji, Nagano City, has introduced a special pairing set made with Merlot harvested from its own farm. The lineup includes the wine "OJOJI 2023," the beer "Shijō," and prosciutto produced by Mr. Sakai of "jamon Kugetsu" in the Odagiri district of Nagano City. The price is 2,300 yen (tax included) for the wine, beer, and prosciutto set.
In an Instagram post, the brewery emphasized that the Merlot used in all three items comes from the same vineyard, creating a tasting experience centered on wine and beer while layering in local ingredients. Nagano Brewery promotes itself as a "circular brewery" that runs its farm and brewery as one integrated operation, using fruit trees and hops harvested from its own farm as ingredients and returning spent malt from brewing back to the farm as fertilizer.
This set can be seen as a project that fully embodies that philosophy. It offers a chance to enjoy wine, beer, and prosciutto all at once while sensing the terroir of the Ojoji and western districts of Nagano City, and each item is also available separately. Sales are announced to begin this weekend.
