At GRANDPA FISH & CHIPS in Kameido, an Instagram post announced the arrival of NEW 2TAP. The lineup is awta from Hoppukotan Brewing and Irish Stout from NOMCRAFT BREWING. In the post, awta is described with grape-like nuances, while Irish Stout is described as "black," making this a setup where you can enjoy a fruit-forward tap alongside a roasted-style tap.

The pub opened in 2019 with the aim of energizing the East Tokyo area. On its official website, it emphasizes a bright, easy-to-enter space and offers four to five kinds of draft craft beer. On some days, REAL ALE is added as well, and the small space with a single wooden counter makes it easy to relax and have a glass.

The food signature is fish and chips fried in an herb batter. It is finished with olive oil, so despite being fried food, it does not feel heavy, making it a dish designed with beer pairing in mind. This time, awta is a beer you would want to drink lightly alongside fish dishes, while Irish Stout is a black beer that can stand up to the aroma of the batter and the savory flavor of white fish; each has a clear role.

It is not a flashy tap takeover, but it is news that two interesting beers have landed for a day when you want to properly enjoy the classic combination of craft beer and fish and chips in Kameido.
