Looking for a reason to drink good beer? Hate prohibition? Like the 30s? Then check out Lucky Bucket’s Speak Easy Party April 17th at the brewery. Here is the press release.

lb_speakeasy_emailLucky Bucket Brewing Company & Sòlas Distillery are hosting a “Speak Easy” Costume Party on April 17th from 8pm until 1am at their brewery located in La Vista, NE.  The evening is a celebration of the repeal of Prohibition, America’s great failed experiment.

On April 7, 1933, President Franklin D. Roosevelt drank his first legal beer at the White House. FDR, the newly elected President, signed the 21st Amendment, Prohibition ended. On Dec. 5, 1933 the 21st Amendment was ratified.
Join the party as the celebration includes a costume contest with drink specials for patrons in Roaring 30’s preferred attire, backroom casino, jazz band, flapper dancers, food provided by Le Voltaire Restaurant, and a silent auction with proceeds benefiting Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Tickets to the event are $25 in advance and $30 at the door the night of the event. Call or stop by the brewery for advance tickets, 402-763-8868. For entry to the “Speak Easy” event, patrons need to access the “Speak Easy” password through Lucky Bucket’s Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/LuckyBucket Twitter page at http://www.twitter.com/luckybucketbrew
See the attached invitation. Feel free to forward to your friends. This promises to be a bash!
Cheers,
Zac

Looks to be a grand way to celebrate the anniversary of the death of a failed idea and support a good cause all at the same time.

Lighthouse_bc2 We have been compiling photos and graphics for our relaunch. In the 700+ photos there is a bottle cap we have been unable to identify. The worst part is that I took the photo and I can’t seem to find the cap or any indication of the brewery it belongs to.

If you recognize it please drop me a line at john@brewcast.net or reply in the comments section of this post. Thanks.
