We headed up to La Vista to visit the new location of Nebraska’s newest brewery. Lucky Bucket Brewing Company has been Brewing since 2009. We were excited to visit the brewery as they also house Sòlas Distillery. Sòlas is currently the only Nebraska distiller with a product on the market (Joss Vodka).

Happy 100th To Shiner – Podcast

The Spoetzl Brewery in Shiner, Texas is celebrating its 100th year anniversary this year. To commemorate the event they released their aptly named 100 Commemorator brew and brought back the Kosmo’s Reserve Lager. Having had the opportunity to enjoy some of their beer in the past we thought we should give this pair a go.
If there is one song that represents our panel it is The Jedi Drinking Song by the Dust Rhinos. Mix a little Celtic style with Star Wars references and beer drinking and we’re good to go.

Beer: Kosmo’s Reserve
Brewery: Spoetzl Brewing in Shiner Texas
Notes: Light beer with a great golden color. Slight citrus hop aroma combined with a light malt smell. Light malt taste with a slightly hoppy finish. Little flavor left in the aftertaste. It is a good example of an American Light Lager.

Beer: Commerator 100th Anniversery
Brewery: Spoetzl Brewing in Shiner Texas
Notes: A pleasing deep copper color with an off white head. Nice sweet malty aroma with undertones of chocolate and coffee. Those flavors played throughout the taste creating a molasses like flavor. There are hnts of prune and dried fruit in the finish. A nicely done beer with a rich flavor.

This week we revisited a constant favorite. The Jedi Drinking Test by the Dust Rhinos is the best drinking song with a Star Wars influence we have ever heard. Funny and catchy it is worth a listen or ten. Thanks to the Podsafe Music Network for provideing the tunes
